Whelp, we bought the truck. Ended up getting 12.5k for the subaru at carmax and test drove the Ram and Stacy loved it. It’s got more bells and whistles than any other vehicle I’ve ever seen. Feels almost too good to be true. Brought it home last night and then this am, I stepped out to learn some of those extras and the truck wouldn’t start. Thought it was a dying battery in both the keyfob and the truck and bought new ones of each to fix. $250 later, still no go. I felt very frustrated and went and saw the new Jason Statham movie, A Working Man. Great flick. Came back and still no go on the truck. Last ditch effort, I texted the salesman who sold us the truck and it turns out the truck was lo-jacked by the dealer to keep theft down. I downloaded an app, logged in and set the truck as SOLD. Lo and behold, it started right up. Frustrating as all get out. But it runs and it’s wonderful. Beastly and beautiful. Celebrated by going to Sleep Number and buying a new bed. $5k more spent.

We discovered that in the last month, we’ve spent more money than ever before. Flooring for the house – $10k, new truck – $38k, new bed – $5k and coming in a week, a new concrete driveway and garage – $7k. Double ouch.
