I would like to provide my thoughts on American Social Media specifically Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
I first started out on the Internet early to mid 1990’s since than a lot has evolved over the decades. One of those is the introduction of Social Media. When I looked into social media, I was skeptical of it than I thought well maybe I can connect with old friends back in Berea, Ohio since I live in Washington State three thousand miles away. I signed up around 2011-2012 a facebook account at first everything was going okay than something different happened it felt like a cold chilly reception. I cannot remember but either I deleted my facebook account or they blocked me. I stayed off of Facebook either way for over 5 plus years. I kept getting messages to come back to facebook. I signed up again same thing only this time I kept receiving or bombarded with women making post about themselves. I started to question this because some of the profiles were either bot, fake, or borrowed accounts. I decided late last year 2024 to delete my facebook account because in my mind it represented a cyber security threat because of the fact I had placed in my Firefox Mozilla browsers Certificate of Authoritys self signed RSA 8192 bits PKCS 12 RSA 16384. On a few occasions, I used ECC curvature encryption self signed as well. I right clicked my Mozilla Firefox and began to limit facebook access into my server and using website blocking software off and on.
The next topic is instagram. I built my account to one million followers. I felt good about this working on my account posting, marketing my products namely the following:
1). Barrys Scientific Based Products
2). Barry Equality Field Equation
3). Barry Infinity Equality Field Equation
4). Myself Barry Lee Crouse
The total time to build this account took over 3 years. Late last year I saw a huge drop in followers probably do to politics Public Servant elections which I never had any inclination to get involved with it or have anything to do with it. You may ask Why ? I had to many relatives who served in World War 1, 2, Korea, My Dad 20 years US Navy, and Myself. I could not get financial aide so I had to serve in the Military to get my education paid for. As you can see, a long line of service. The main point is Politics and Business do not mix. This was taught to me a long time ago in Cleveland, Ohio 1980’s. I left Instagram because of this with reluctance because it was thought I could get five to seven million followers. I used Instagram as a marketing tool for my copyrights and brand names above.
The next one is twitter. I use to like using twitter but it also evolved into a platform for politicians. The previous owner or CEO had a good model at first you can market your brand names post your ideas followed the idea’s of the Internet “Free exchange of idea’s.” This also went south. I can remember Christmas day twitter suspended my account. They sent me email asking for reviews and I will say the former CEO and me do not like each other gave him negative remarks. I can remember he had on his twitter group called proud boys. I do not know much about them nor cared but after review so of the media labeled them as Nazis. They looked like in the picture people who served in the military waving the American flag so I gave them a follow if I remember right. I would like to point out had I was given the correct information I probably would have blocked them. I had 4 Uncles who served in World War 2. Three in Europe and one died at Leyette also my aunt Milda escaped from Nazi Germany she was sterilized and was going to be executed. Milda lived a ripe old age in Missouri with my Uncle. The one thing I question about twitter is they like to play these types of games along with politicians making people out to be a horrible person when you know nothing about the person’s family history. I recently signed up with Twitter and it appears to be another social media that is far right with politicians highlighting their great achievements blowing their own horn. I look at my twitter feed and find Fox news promoting war and poverty hint blowing up 401k’s for the good of the country. These people promote war with every nation that it does not like. They stated they wanted peace during the fall of 2024 now they beat the war drums on social media using it as a tool for propaganda and politics. This is why I do not believe Politics and Business do not mix. I will leave you with a final point. Back in the early 70’s, America had a war with Vietnam when the war ended April 30, 1975 the economy went real bad. I remember my Dad was in the Navy in North Charleston, South Carolina military bases were being closed down and stores began to closed. We left Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Cleveland, Ohio it took years for economic recovery oil embargo gas rations etc.. This is why people who disagree on these social media platforms with others should not be shadow banned because if you can speak from experience than you have something valuable to share that the world must know about.
